Inspired by a picture I took of Jane posing next to l'Eglise de Saint Julien le Pauvre in Paris ... It took me two years to finish this painting. I went through lots of different compositions, color schemes ... An endless battle. It was painful, but exciting. Many times I thought of giving up. But ...

Candle inspired by Gerhard Richter

I am fascinated by Gerhard Richter; I had to try (somewhat naively) to approach one of his many wonderful paintings. He has painted several "candles" - so masterfully. I did try my best, only to realize I was still miles away. I have only used two colors: Cadmium Yellow Pale and Cobalt Blue (and a tad of Transparent Oxyde Red).
