Inspired by a picture I took of Jane posing next to l'Eglise de Saint Julien le Pauvre in Paris ... It took me two years to finish this painting. I went through lots of different compositions, color schemes ... An endless battle. It was painful, but exciting. Many times I thought of giving up. But ...
This is the original picture I took two years ago.
Placing the major forms and "killing" the white background.
I was imagining a bright orange background with purple trees, then realized that the background would be the focus, and Jane ... the background so to speak.
And I started changing everything ... many times.
